2026年1月6日、明治神宮で奉納土俵入りが行われました。
横綱・大の里関が披露された新しい化粧まわしをご覧になった方も多いのではないでしょうか。

実はこの化粧まわしの制作に、弊社親会社である浜友E.F.、そして久能山東照宮とともに、私たち遠州山中酒造も関わらせていただきました。
酒蔵として、このような大変名誉ある機会に携わらせていただいたことを、心より光栄に思っております。

■ 徳川家康公をモチーフにした三つの意匠

今回の化粧まわし制作にあたり、主題として据えられたのは、徳川家康公が体現した「天下泰平」の思想でした。

家康公は、武の力のみならず、忍耐・節度・秩序をもって長き平和の礎を築いた人物です。
その精神は、勝敗だけでなく、品格や所作、心構えまでもが問われる相撲道と、深く通じるものがあると感じています。

こうした想いから、本化粧まわしには
・徳川家康公の兜
・天へと昇る昇竜
・勇猛果敢な虎

という三つの意匠が選ばれました。
これらは単なる装飾ではなく、横綱としての威厳、さらなる飛躍、そして不屈の精神を象徴するものです。

■「葵天下」と「天下泰平」に託した想い
化粧まわしには、私たち遠州山中酒造が醸す日本酒「葵天下」の名と、「天下泰平」の文字が記されています。

「葵天下」は、徳川家の象徴である葵の御紋を冠し、泰平の世を願う精神を今に伝える酒として、私たちが大切に育んできた銘柄です。

その名に込めてきた想いと、横綱という日本の伝統文化の象徴が持つ品格を重ね合わせることで、
相撲という国技が持つ精神性を、現代へと力強く発信したい。。。
そのような願いが、この化粧まわしには込められています。

■久能山東照宮の名を刻み、歴史と祈りを土俵へ
本化粧まわしには、本プロジェクトの趣旨にご賛同いただいた久能山東照宮の名も刻まれています。

天下泰平の礎を築いた徳川家康公の志と精神にあやかり、大の里関が土俵の上で揺るぎない強さを発揮されること、
そして相撲道そのものが末永く隆盛していくことへの祈りを、一針一針に込めています。

私たち遠州山中酒造は、酒造りを通じて、歴史や文化を次代へと伝えていくことを大切にしてきました。
