■About "Ieyasu, the daimyo"
Hamamatsu City is the place where Tokugawa Ieyasu laid the foundation for unifying the country, so it is currently operating city promotion under the theme of "Hamamatsu, a city of success." Prince Ieyasu built Hamamatsu Castle and lived for 17 years between the ages of 29 and 45, and later established a long-term government of 300 years. Hamamatsu Castle became known as a "castle of succession" as many of its successive castle lords took key positions in the shogunate.
