▼What is IWC (International Wine Challenge)?

The IWC (International Wine Challenge) was founded in 1984 and is said to be the most prestigious wine competition in the world. Since the SAKE category was established in 2007, the award-winning sake in the SAKE category has attracted attention both domestically and internationally, and IWC has been increasing its value as an important event in the expansion of sake overseas.

The results of this medal-winning sake were announced on May 18, 2023, and this year, it was in nine categories: "regular sake," "junmai sake," "junmai ginjo sake," "junmai daiginjo sake," "honjozo sake," "ginjo sake," "daiginjo sake," "sparkling," and "old sake," and each section was judged through blind tastings. A total of 63 judges from 14 countries around the world participated, with the number of entries this year reaching 1,601 brands of sake.
